Antioxidants

Literally meaning ‘against oxidation’, antioxidants can help strengthen the immune system as part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. Antioxidants in the system help to eliminate free radicals and keep the body cells in balance.

It is also believed that antioxidant rich foods play an important role in keeping arteries healthy and lowering cholesterol, all essential in maintaining healthy heart function. Pomegranates are known to be a good source of polyphenol antioxidants. In fact there have been numerous scientific studies globally about the positive effects of pomegranate juice.

A few months ago, we asked Professor Dirk Budka, senior biomedical scientist at the Hale Clinic in London, to review all the medical studies on pomegranate juice. He found more than 50 from all over the world. All 165 pages of his report have been published on the internet if you want to read it! Even after studying all this research (yes, all 165 pages!), we wanted to be sure that all these antioxidant benefits were also true of pomegreat.
